Positive Declaration And Public Scoping

Saratoga County - The NYS Department of Transportation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Round Lake Bypass Construction may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on September 26, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Round Lake Fire House, Curry Road, Village of Round Lake. Public comment period ends October 11, 2006. The action involves the construction of a two-lane bypass roadway to accommodate commuter traffic currently traveling through the Village of Round Lake historic district in order to improve the quality of life within the Village. The proposed total length of the new highway would be 2.5 km (1.6 miles). The proposed termini are Curry Road (State Route 911V) near Exit 11 of I-87 and State Route 9 in the vicinity of its intersection with State Route 67. Note that this positive declaration was originally issued on December 28, 2005 by the Saratoga County Department of Public Works.
