Project Description:
The applicant, in cooperation with landowner Mr. Elliott Slate, 26694 Wills Road, Redwood, New York 13679, proposes to create approximately 15 acres of shallow marsh habitat, by installing approximately 40' of sheet piling with water level control provisions. The project would enhance and enlarge existing wetland to benefit waterfowl and other marsh wildlife.  The site is located on tributary 1 of Jewett Creek, 3.5 miles northwest of Redwood, off the end of  Wills Road.  The site is located in state regulated freshwater wetland R-6, a 429.5 acre Class II wetland.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency:
NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The applicant proposes to expand an existing 200' long x 85' wide pond in the course of a tributary to Fall Brook, to 245' long x 125' wide.  The purpose of the project is to create gradual grade slopes on the deep pond for safety of family and guests.  The site is located 400' east of the North Osceola Road, 1.3 miles south of North Osceola.
