Monroe County - The NYS Div of Military and Naval Affairs, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed : Expansion of the Rochester Army Aviation Support Facility leasehold at the Greater Rochester International Airport will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the lease of an additional 8.39 acres of land adjacent to the existing Rochester Army Aviation Support Facility (RAASF), located at the Greater Rochester International Airport (GRIA). The land is owned by Monroe County and is currently leased to the State of New York. The NYS Division of Military & Naval Affairs maintains an Army Aviation Support Facility housing 6-UH-60 (Blackhawk) and 6-CH-47 (Chinook) helicopters at this site. The operational expansion of the existing RAASF was covered in a final Environmental Assessment approved in July, 2004. During conceptual design, it was determined that additional acreage is required to park and taxi additional helicopters which will be based at RAASF. This acreage was not included in the original EA (July, 2004).
The area is presently maintained as green space between the existing helicopter taxiway and a general aviation runway. The new lease area will be graded, backfilled, and paved with asphalt to provide parking and taxiway space for 6 CH-47 (Chinook) and 6 UH-60 (Blackhawk) helicopter aircraft. This will effect 0.25 acres of federally regulated wetland which has been mitigated through purchase of 0.5 acres of wetland credits. Monroe County - The Town of Ogden Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Adoption of Town of Ogden Open Space Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of an open space plan for the Town of Ogden. The plan charts a course for the town and sets forth a host of options that can be pursued to ensure that the open space vision expressed by the community is realized as the town continues growing and moving forward. By taking a multi-pronged approach to open space conservation, the Ogden community can achieve its open space conservation goals, balance development with open space protection, support agriculture and provide active and passive recreational opportunities for generations to come. The project is located town-wide.
