The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for remediation of the site indicated above.
NYSDEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.
Please note the application package includes the Draft Remedial Work Plan which describes how the contamination related to the site will be addressed.
NYSDEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Nassau County - The Planning Board of the Incorporated Village of Oyster Bay Cove, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Application for Preliminary Approval of Subdivision-Proposed Redcote Farms Ltd. (portion of Pulling property) subdivision of 72.3 acres into 24 single family residential lots. The FEIS is available for public inspection at the Village Hall, #25B Route 25A, Oyster Bay, NY 11771, Monday, Wednesday or Friday during regular business hours, or at the Office of the Village Attorneys, Humes and Wagner, LLP 147 Forest Avenue, Locust Valley, NY between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and on the Village website http://www.oysterbaycove.net/ for the statutory time period. The action involves Redcote Farm Ltd. applying to the Planning Board of the Incorporated Village of Oyster Bay Cove for preliminary approval of an application to subdivide 72.3 acres into 24 single family residential lots. The premises are known as the Pulling property. The Pulling property consists of approximately 117.52 acres from which 72.3 acres are proposed to be subdivided. The proposed lots will have a minimum gross lot size of 2 acres and a maximum gross lot size of 4.43 acres. The proposal includes a 6.01 acre drainage reserve area in the northeastern portion of the subject property, a 200 foot wide conservation area along Route 25A in the southeastern portion of the site, west of Oyster Bay Cove Road and a 50 foot wide conservation area along the east side of Yellow Cote Road and west side of Oyster Bay Cove Road. Eighteen of the 24 lots are proposed to be serviced by a new roadway on the west side of Oyster Bay Cove Road between Timber Ridge Court and Birch Court and 6 lots are proposed to be serviced by a cul de sac originating at Yellow Cote Road. The project is located on Section 27, Block L, Lots 226, 227 and parts of lots 217, 220 and 229 on the Nassau County Land and Tax Map, Oyster Bay Cove, New York.
