The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve this application for a
modification of a permit for an existing discharge of 9.17 million gallons per day of
treated back wash water into the Black Rock Canal. The applicant will use a new Outfall
No 003A to discharge the treated sand filter backwash water. Authorization for approved
emergency use discharge of untreated sand filter backwash water through Outfall Nos 002
and 003 has been deleted from the permit conditions.
