Section 401 - Clean Water Act Water Quality Certification Article 15 Title 5 Stream Disturbance |
| Project is Located: | Dresden, Washington County |
| Project Description: | |
|
The applicant has proposed
to re-establish the stream channel of Foster Brook (Class AA-Special), as well as enlarge its flow capacity
at the lower reach in order to minimize the
potential for flooding developed properties at Hulett's Landing. Storm events had
destroyed the sediment retention basin, filled the channel with material, and severely
eroded the banks. The current flow is also jeopardizing the sanitary sewer line which
crosses the brook. The work will begin 100 feet upstream of the mouth and continue 350
feet upstream, and will consist of removing the material deposited within Foster Brook to
create a 12-foot wide bermed channel with a low flow channel therein.
