The applicant proposes to
construct nine, 8-unit condominium buildings specifically
designed for senior citizen occupancy on a 14.5 acre parcel located along the east side of
Brandle Road just south of the village of Altamont. Construction will impact
approximately 0.06 acre of freshwater wetland AL-14, 1.8 acres of wetland buffer area
and 78 linear feet of stream channel. To offset wetland impacts the remaining wetland
and buffer areas on the property will be protected by a deed covenant with prohibitions
from further development of these areas and the stormwater management area has been
designed to develop the characteristics and functionality of a wetland. Green space on the
property will be owned and maintained by a Homeowners Association.
