Project Description: The action involves reduction of undesirable vegetation (grasses, forbs, ferns, birch, beech, striped maple, red maple, aspen and other herbaceous plants) from the site by spraying a glyphosate product to release previously planted Norway spruce saplings. This action is to take place on a six acre site. This action will remove the target vegetation for a period of time sufficient to allow the spruce to dominate and occupy the site. The only vegetation to be removed is non-threatened or non-endangered species. Impact on public health is minimal. Individuals applying the herbicide will be equipped with proper safety equipment and will follow the label instructions for the herbicide.

Project Location: Three and one-half miles north of Hartwick, Town of Otsego

Project Description: The action involves the application of the herbicide (Glyfos) to reduce the competition from undesirable woody and herbaceous vegetation on a six acre site. This action will remove the target vegetation consisting of sugar maple, red maple, ferns, shrubs and beech on the site for a period of time sufficient to allow the planted spruce to attain enough size to dominate and fully occupy the site. The only vegetation to be removed is non-threatened or non-endangered species. Impact on public health is minimal. Individuals applying the herbicide will be equipped with proper safety equipment and will follow the label instructions for the herbicide.


Delaware County - The Village of Walton Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed amending Chapter 53 of the Village of Walton's Zoning Code will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves amending a portion of the Village's Zoning Code, Chapter 53, in accordance with the statutory authority of Section 7-700 and 7-708 of Village Law. The amendment clarify and expand the code's definitions so to do away with an ambiguity; expand the permitted uses, permitted accessory uses, and permitted conditional uses within each district so to allow for a greater variety of uses; and makes the signs regulations less restrictive within the business and commercial districts.

Schenectady County - The Glenville Planning and Zoning Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Glenview Gardens will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves proposing to subdivide an existing 63.3 acre parcel into 60 single-family residential building lots. 5,000 linear feet of new public street is proposed along with public sewer and water facilities. Stormwater will be managed on-site. Access will be from Wagon Wheel Lane on the north of Swaggertown Road on the east. The project includes a sanitary sewer district expansion and subsequent sewer line extension to accommodate the development. The project is located on Wagon Wheel Lane and Swaggertown Road in the Town of Glenville.

Schenectady County - The Town Board of the Town of Niskayuna, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Ingersoll Adult Home will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new 62, 269 square foot adult home facility on 4 acres of land. The development will involve the construction of a 35 parking spaces, utility connection and storm water management. The project is located at 3359 Consaul Road in the Town of Niskayuna, NY.

Schenectady County - The Planning Board of the Town of Niskayuna, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed TJL Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the subdivision of 5.62 acres of land into 14 single family residential building lots with the associated roadway, utilities, storm water facilities. The project is located on Ravine Road in the Town of Niskayuna.

Positive Declaration And Public Scoping

Delaware County: - The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Chenango Countywide 911 Communication System Upgrade project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment, and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Chenango County Office Building (5 Court Street, Norwich, NY 13815). A draft scoping document, which describes the project and methodologies to be used to assess potential environmental impacts of the proposed project, is available on the DASNY Website (http://www.dasny.org), the Chenango County Website (http://www.co.chenango.ny.us/) and at the public libraries in Sherburne, Norwich and Greene in Chenango County and at the public library in Sidney, Delaware County. Written comments on the draft scoping document may be sent to the contact person and will be accepted for a period of ten (10) calendar days following the close of the public scoping meeting. The project involves demolition of existing communications infrastructure at a site in the Town of Norwich, and construction of new antenna towers and equipment shelters, and/or renovation of existing infrastructure, at an additional seven sites located throughout Chenango County. Towns within Chenango County where project-related activities are proposed include: Coventry, Greene, New Berlin, Norwich (two sites), Pharsalia, Sherburne and Otselic. In Delaware County new equipment is proposed to be added to an existing antenna tower located south of the Village of Sidney in the Town of Masonville.
