Project Description:
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for modification of an existing SPDES permit for a withdrawal and discharge of up to 12.24 million gallons per day of treated groundwater into Paerdegat Basin (Class I) from a treatment system consisting of settling tanks at the applicant’s facility located at the head of Paerdegat Basin where the applicant is constructing a Combined Sewer Overflow storage tank and appurtenances. The modifications include the deletion of 3 discharge locations and the addition of 2 new discharge locations and a revised monitoring locations page to reflect proposed operations. A draft permit is available for inspection and comment at the regional office.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
A final enviromental impact statement has been prepared on this project and is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency:
NYC Dept of Environmental Protection
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Sep 8 2006.
