"The Coptic Monastery of Shenouda", a 9,000 square
foot building, south of Lehigh Station Road in the Town of Henrietta. The construction
of the driveway, building, and parking area will involve parts of NYS Freshwater
Wetland HR-25. All work will comply with the Department's Stormwater SPDES
General Permit for Construction Activities.

With the guidance
of the Schuyler County Soil and Water Conservation District, the applicant
proposes to use a former channel of Mead’s Creek to create a high flow channel to prevent
flooding of nearby homes during high flow events. In order to construct the high flow channel,
the applicant proposes to install an temporary culvert for equipment crossing of the creek. The
entrance to the high flow channel will be protected by a heavy rock sill to prevent the high flow
channel from becoming the main channel. A 110 foot section of rip rap will also be placed at the
location where the high flow channel reenters the creek. The project is located in Meads Creek
(Pa 3-58-3 (C(TS)) along Route 16 in the Town of Orange approximately 1.75 miles east of the
Steuben County/ Schuyler County line.
