The applicant proposes to
renew an expired permit to mine 28 acres from a 923 acre
parcel owned by the applicant. The site is located 1600' west of NYS Route 180, off
Grove Cemetery Road, approximately one mile southwest of the Village of LaFargeville.
Mining will primarily take place within the current affected area. It is anticipated that
blasting will take place four to eight times per year. On-site processing (crushing and
screening) is proposed.

construct an access road to repair an overhead utility tower on
the north bank of Barge Canal. The road will be constructed on top of an existing berm
adjacent to the canal. The boundary of Freshwater Wetland UE-5 (a class II, 28 acre
wetland) runs along the toe of slope on the north side of the berm. There will be no work
in the freshwater wetland proper.
