Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to renew an expired permit to mine 28 acres from a 923 acre parcel owned by the applicant.  The site is located 1600' west of NYS Route 180, off Grove Cemetery Road, approximately one mile southwest of the Village of LaFargeville. Mining will primarily take place within the current affected area.  It is anticipated that blasting will take place four to eight times per year.  On-site processing (crushing and screening) is proposed.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct an access road to repair an overhead utility tower on the north bank of Barge Canal. The road will be constructed on top of an existing berm adjacent to the canal. The boundary of  Freshwater Wetland UE-5 (a class II, 28 acre wetland) runs along the toe of slope on the north side of the berm.   There will be no work in the freshwater wetland proper.

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.

NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
