Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

Albany County - The City of Albany Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed St. Peter's Hospital Proposed Pavilion/Entry Renovation and Addition. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on July 20, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, Eagle Street, Albany, NY. Comments are requested and will be accepted by the contact person until August 10, 2006. The action involves St. Peter's Hospital regarding the 13.57-acre parcel located at 315 South Manning Boulevard seeking Site Plan Approval to allow for the construction of an addition and renovations to an existing hospital. The property is located in a C-O Commercial Office zoning district. The project consists of a six-story 275,000 sf addition; a new entry on the south face of the existing building and a new public connection from the entry to the new tower, the adjacent professional office building and the existing hospital. The project is located in the City of Albany, Albany County on the southeast corner of the intersection of New Scotland Avenue and S. Manning Boulevard (sbl # 64.81-3-1 and 75.25-1-1).

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final EIS

Albany County - The City of Albany Common Council, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Park South Urban Renewal Plan. The Park South Urban Renewal Plan, if adopted, proposes to consist, in part, of a plan to assemble available properties to allow the potential redevelopment of: 1) approximately 28 one and two family units and 225 multi-family units with 541 units of new housing, including 50 senior units [a net increase of 253 units] which shall consist of row houses, market rate apartments or condominium units; 2) 22,500 square feet of existing retail space with 44,500 square feet of retail space [a net increase of 22,000 square feet of retail space]; 3) 31,000 square feet of office space with 100,000 square feet of office space in two buildings associated with Albany Medical Center [a net increase of 69,000 square feet]; 4) in-fill housing [up to 53 one, two or multi-family units]; 5) blocks of housing or rehabilitate isolated buildings up to 111 units of rehabilitated housing and 2,250 square feet of retail space; 6) lands for parking facilities, including enclosed parking garages, decks, surface parking lots and other parking areas to support the redeveloped uses; and 7) other ancillary infrastructure improvements to streets, sidewalks, sewer and water facilities and streetscapes. The project is located on properties within 26.5 acres of land generally bounded by Madison Avenue on the north, Robin Street on the west, Myrtle Avenue on the south and Lark Street on the east; including interior streets New Scotland Avenue, Knox Street, Dana Avenue and Morris Street, within the City of Albany.
