The action involves Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS) and Suffolk County Department of Public Works (SCDPW) overseeing the development and early implementation of a Suffolk County-wide long-term vector control and wetlands management plan and accompanying Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS). The DGEIS has evaluated potential impacts associated with the Long-Term Plan, and compared those impacts to impacts associated with reasonable alternatives considered as part of the DGEIS. The DGEIS further identifies mitigations for the potential impacts, and has determined if there are cumulative impacts, unavoidable adverse impacts, and if implementing the Long-Term Plan will require the irretrievable commitment of County resources. The project location is all of Suffolk County.
