The applicant proposes to
reconstruct 94 feet of bulkhead within 24 inches of the existing
bulkhead, construct one 2 foot return and one 8 foot return, dredge no further than 10 feet
seaward of the bulkhead to a depth of -4 feet below mean low water and place 25 cubic
yards dredge material and 50 cubic yards fill material behind bulkhead as backfill. The
applicant also proposes to reconstruct an existing boardwalk/deck in-place, replace 3
existing floats in-place and install a 4 pile boat lift. Apparent high water is located at the
bulkhead. Reconstruction of the bulkhead within 2 feet will result in the loss of
approximately 188 square feet of tidal wetlands known as littoral zone (SM/LZ). The
project is located at 2794 Rita Court, Bellmore, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County,

make several improvements to most of the stream corridor of
the Massapequa Creek. The creek is a regulatyed freshwater wetland, identified as # A-2. The work includes stream flow augmentation, storm water diversion, storm water
treatment, erosion and sediment control, pond and stream channeling, channel dredging,
creation of emergent marsh areas, and planting of wetlands vegetation. The project is
intended to improve and rehabilitate the stream's sustainable freshwater fish habitat. The
