The applicant proposes a
discharge of between 50 and 400 barrels per day of produced
water from natural gas wells (brine) through deep well injection to groundwater,
specifically the Black River formation, in order to test the injectivity of the Gublo #1 gas
well, for the potential future conversion to brine injection. The well is located just west of
Vanderhoff Road, approximately 4,000 feet south of the intersection of Roloson Hollow
Road. The test, which will not exceed an injection pressure of 6410 psi BHP, will take
place in 24-48 hour increments over a six month period. As a tentative determination,
the Department seeks comments on the proposed activity prior to making a final decision
on permit issuance. The file is available for review at the NYSDEC Region 8 office.

in a Class C tributary ( ONT 117-53-4a-2) of Bidwell Creek, in the Town of York.

The applicant proposes to
reopen and operate an existing 17.1 acre clay mine on Long
Point Road. The mine will operate as a traditional dry, surface excavation of clay
materials using mechanical equipment standard for this type of mining. Materials will
not be mined from below the water table and no on-site processing will occur.
Reclamation will restore the acreage to agricultural use including a pond. The area has
been previously used for mining. The project is located in the Town of Torrey, Yates
County. Application materials are available for public review and comment at the
Regional Office of NYS DEC.
