Project Description:

The applicant proposes to apply the aquatic herbicides SONAR AS & SONAR Q (active ingredients: fluridone - 41.7%) to the entire 23.5 acres of three hydraulically-linked waterbodies known as Clifton Knolls Ponds: Barney Road Pond (15.3 acres), Beechwood Road Pond (4.8 acres) and Par Del Rio Pond (3.4 acres), to control Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum), duckweed (Lemna minor L), coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum) and watermeal (Wolffia spp.). The ponds are part of regulated Freshwater Wetland N-8 (Class II). This proposal is consistent with the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement On Aquatic Vegetation Control Program of the Department of Environmental Conservation and its Findings. The three ponds are located east and west of Barney Road and Beechwood Drive, south of Clifton Park Center Road. The application materials area available for public review and comment at the NYS DEC Regional Sub-Office in Warrensburg.

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.
SEQR Lead Agency:
None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
