The applicant proposes to apply the aquatic herbicides SONAR AS & SONAR Q (active ingredients: fluridone - 41.7%) to the entire 23.5 acres of three hydraulically-linked waterbodies known as Clifton Knolls Ponds: Barney Road Pond (15.3 acres), Beechwood Road Pond (4.8 acres) and Par Del Rio Pond (3.4 acres), to control Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum), duckweed (Lemna minor L), coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum) and watermeal (Wolffia spp.). The ponds are part of regulated Freshwater Wetland N-8 (Class II). This proposal is consistent with the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement On Aquatic Vegetation Control Program of the Department of Environmental Conservation and its Findings. The three ponds are located east and west of Barney Road and Beechwood Drive, south of Clifton Park Center Road.
