ENB Region 4 Completed Applications 05/17/2006

The applicant proposes to apply the herbicide Aquathol to control milfoil and curly leaf pond weed and the algaecide Captain to control algae on Zeky's Pond which is a regulated Freshwater Wetland (H-21).  The applicant is requesting a multiple year approval through the year 2011.

Applicant proposes to expand an existing 60-acre Life of Mine sand and gravel pit by adding 0.7 acres on the westerly side of the mine, for a total Life of Mine acreage of 61± acres.  Existing structures and vegetation will be left in place to screen the new acreage from NYS Route 5S.  The mine is located on the south side of NYS Route 5S, about ½ mile east of Randall, Town of Root, Montgomery County, N. Y.

The applicant proposes to delete 1.7 acres from the previously approved life of mine area on the south side of the mine, and add 7.7 acres to the life of mine on the north side of the mining operation.  The area being deleted will increase the buffer between the operation and Partition Street, and as part of the modification, the applicant is undertaking reclamation of the south side of the existing mining operation.  The project is located on Partition Street Extension, in the City of Rensselaer and town of North Greenbush, Rensselaer County.

Maintenance dredging of the federal navigation channel in the Hudson River at Coeymans (RM 132) and Kingston (RM 92).  Dredged material will be disposed of at a federally-owned site on Houghtaling Island (U-3A), Town of New Baltimore, Greene County, New York.  Approximately 55,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged from the Hudson River sites.
