The applicant is proposing
to construct a 20' wide x 670' long stone revetment, on grade,
immediately adjacent to a vegetated tidal wetland. The project will include the placement
of approximately 670 linear feet of 200 to 500 pound stone, as well as approximately 650
cubic yards of upland sand, with plantings. The close proximity of the proposed work
site to the vegetated tidal wetland may necessitate an intrusion onto the wetland. The
stated purpose of the proposed project is to protect the upland roads from flooding during
extreme storm events. The property is located on Montecito Drive (NCTM # 28-68 lots
1-26 & 38), Centre Island, in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, NY.
