The Village of Bayville
proposes to improve the drainage system and treat the stormwater
discharge in the Valentine Beach area roadway system. The improvements include three
new outfalls each with a rip-rap apron, new drainage piping and a series of leaching
basins, stormceptor units and a bubbler catch basin. A single stone revetment is also
proposed along Creek Road. The drainage work is bounded by Mountian & Godfrey
Avenues & Mill Neck Creek in the Village of Bayville, Nassau County.

The applicant is proposing
to construct a 20' wide x 670' long stone revetment, on grade,
immediately adjacent to a vegetated tidal wetland. The project will include the placement
of approximately 670 linear feet of 200 to 500 pound stone, as well as approximately 650
cubic yards of upland sand, with plantings. The close proximity of the proposed action to
the vegetated tidal wetland is expected to have a negative impact on the wetland. The
stated purpose of the proposed project is to protect the upland roads from flooding during
extreme storm events. The property is located on Montecito Drive (NCTM # 28-68 lots
1-26 & 38), Centre Island, in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, NY.
