ENB Region 8 Completed Applications 04/26/2006

The applicant proposes to modify the existing sand and gravel mining operation at the Pallidino/Buchtel/Brewer Pit.  The modification proposes to import, stockpile and process asphalt millings, topsoil, and gravel.  The asphalt millings will be processed (crushed) and recycled for use as an alternative subbase material.  A maximum of 1,500 tons of material will be stored on the site at any given time.  The topsoil and gravel will be screened and sold off site.  A maximum of 1,500 tons of topsoil and gravel materials will be stored on the site at any given time.  The storage and processing will occur in the southeastern part of the site.  These materials will not be used in the reclamation of the site.  The mine will continue to operate as a traditional surface excavation of sand and gravel, no significant change in operation is proposed.  

Applicant proposes to construct a second and third story addition to an existing three story residential structure, construct a two story garage with bridge attachment to residential addition, install a driveway with drainage measures, and utilities at 251 Pebble Beach Drive on Irondequoit Bay.  Work will be within a 300 ft. adjacent area of NYS Freshwater Wetland RE-1 (I), and within a Coastal Erosion Hazard Natural Protective Feature area.
