The applicant proposes construction of a
"Class C", 31-foot high, earthen dam creating
an approximate 12.6 acre reservoir that is expected to hold approximately 62 million
gallons of water. The spillway will consist of a reservoir drain system with a gate and
a
12-inch diameter outlet pipe to a stone-lined plunge pool. The material to construct the
dam will be obtained from within the reservoir area. The purpose of the proposed
reservoir is to store water that will be used to create snow for the facility’s existing ski
slopes. The project site is located in the Town of Mansfield, approximately 1.9 miles
west of the intersection of NYS Route 219 and Holiday Valley Road.

Replacement of an existing
20 foot long timber bridge with a 30 foot long three span nail
laminated timber deck structure supported by a series of timber pile bents and timber
abutments. The existing cart bridge traverses a low-lying area between the Sinking Pond
(EA-7) Wetland and a small pond. The bridge serves the12th hole of the East Aurora
Country Club which is located at 300 Girdle Road. The cart path approaches to the
bridge will be elevated with fill to provide approximately 2 feet of freeboard over existing
conditions. In addition, a man-made pond located in front of the 18th hole green is
proposed to be dredged. The pond is located adjacent to the EA-7 Wetland, a class II
wetland.
