The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve a modified SPDES permit
to discharge up to 70,000 gpd of treated sanitary waste to Lake Ontario. Proposed plans
include a new facility-wide collection system to a new sewage treatment plant (STP) with
ultaviolet disinfection prior to discharge. Some new replacement lines will temporarily
disturb state wetlands and the coastal erosion area. The new collection and treatment
system will replace the existing system which included subsurface disposal. No facility
expansion is included in this modification. The draft permit and project plans are
available for review in the Syracuse Office.

reviewed the proposal and recommends approval. The application is available for review
in the Syracuse Office.
