ENB Region 3 Completed Applications 02/01/2006

The applicant proposes to construct a portion of a paved access roadway and drainage improvements within the 100 foot adjacent area of Freshwater Wetland CO-8 (Class III) in conjunction with the construction of a 90-lot residential subdivision on a 169+ acre parcel. The total area of disturbance to the adjacent area of the wetland is approximately 0.23 acre; no disturbance to the wetland is proposed. The project is located on the north side of NYS Route 94 and south of Mount Airy Road in the Towns of New Windsor and Cornwall, Orange County. A stormwater management plan has been prepared and is available for review.

        To disturb approximately 0.2 acres of the adjacent area of state regulated Freshwater Wetland #TH-16 (Class 1) in order to construct approximately half of a 43-space parking lot to serve a proposed multi-story office building (which would be outside the wetland adjacent area) on a 1.19 acre parcel of land. The proposed office building would be served by municipal sewers and by the United Water Company.  The site is located on the south side of NYS Rt 202, approximately 850 feet east of its intersection with Camp Hill Road, in the Town of Ramapo, in Rockland County, NY.

The applicant proposes to increase the taking of ground water from the existing "Sherwood" well from 150 gallons per minute to 500 GPM to be pumped to the Stevensville Water District. The well has a tested capacity of 700 +/- GPM. The location is to the east of Shore Road, 1/2 mile south of NYS Route 52.

The town wishes to divert an approximate 700 foot long sectionof the Rondout Creek from its current channel back to a former channnel in order to alleviate flooding impacts to County Route 42( Peekamoose Road) and residential structures in the area.  The former channel will be excavated as necessary to remove accumulated gravel and debris to ensure adequate flow capacity.  A permanent stone fill diversion structure will be placed across the current channel.  In addition, a portion of a large gravel bar between the two channels will be removed and some of this material used to backfill eroded areas on the east bank of the current channel.  The project site is located west of Peekamoose Road, approximately 800 feet upstream from the Ballace Road bridge.

The applicant proposes to expand an existing 33-acre sand and gravel mine by 4.5 acres (on a total site of 212 +/- acres)in a linear manner by constructing a service road to an existing well, to be utilized in a dust control plan, thus eliminating the current need to truck water in. The road will not be used to transport excavated material. The location is on the north side of Fischer Road approximately 1/2 mile west of the intersection with Krum Road.
