Project Description: The action involves the transfer of approximately 719 acres of NYS Canal Corporation owned lands to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). The lands are known as the Twin Lakes Reservoir and Chub Lake Reservoir. They are situated within the Adirondack Park and completely surrounded by Forest Preserve Lands. The NYS DEC, in partnership with the Thruway Authority and the Canal Corporation, has been managing these lands since active water management on the sites ceased. No change in management will occur following the transfer.


Jefferson County - The Village of Sackets Harbor, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Amendment to Village of Sackets Harbor Subdivision Control Law will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves amendment to Village of Sackets Harbor Subdivision Control Law to update the regulations concerning the review and layout of proposed streets in subdivisions. The project is located village-wide, Sackets Harbor, Jefferson County.

Jefferson County - The Planning Board of the Town of Watertown, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Towne Center of Watertown may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the site plan and subdivision review to permit the development of 426,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space in the Town of Watertown. The project is located on the south side of State Route 3, Arsenal Street, Watertown, NY.
