Westchester County - The Planning Board of the Town of Putnam Valley, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Gas Station and Convenience Store may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on January 16, 2006 at 4:45 p.m. at the Putnam Valley Town Hall, 265, Oscawana Lake Road, Putnam Valley, NY. The action involves an application to permit a gas station and convenience store on 1.34 acres of land. The project site is located at the intersection of Peekskill Hollow Road and the entrance to the Taconic State Parkway. The site is located in the Neighborhood Commercial (CN) Zoning District and is within the Ground and Surface Water Protection (WP) Overlay District and the Wetlands and Watercourse (W) Overlay District. The project site contains wetlands regulated by the Town and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and is adjacent to the Peekskill Hollow Brook. The proposed use is currently prohibited in the WP Overlay District and would require a use variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals.
