Cormorant Associates, LLC, has
applied for Freshwater Wetland permit
and a 401-Water Quality Certification to construct the proposed 55-unit "Elm
Farm Subdivision" on the east side of Wells Road. The proposed subdivision
would include construction of three stormwater outfalls on the west side of Wells
Road within the 100-foot wide adjacent area of state regulated Freshwater
Wetland NB-19 (Class 2) and in the federally regulated wetlands associated with
it.
The applicant also proposes to
construct a small portion of an access road
in this same wetland adjacent area and remove a small earthen mound blocking
the line-of-site from the proposed entrance road in that same wetland adjacent
area but on the uphill side of Elm Road, away from the wetland itself.
The proposed 55-lot Elm Farm subdivision would be located
on 45 acres of
land, with entrance roads off Fostertown Road and Wells Road, in the Town of
Newburgh, Orange County, NY.

Nicholas
Marangi has applied for a Part 360 Solid Waste Management Facility permit
to convert and expand an existing truck wash facility into the "Crossroads Transfer
Station" for Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Construction and Demolition Debris
(C&D), with a maximum through-put capacity of 700 tons per day (tpd). The facility is
located on a 6.3 acre site at 331 Route 17 South in Hillburn, approximately 8/10 of a mile
from exit 15-A of Interstate-87 (the Thruway). It is anticipated that almost all vehicles
will access the site from this Thruway interchange. Trucks would be weighed going into
and out of the facility to determine the volume of material loaded or unloaded. All
loading and unloading will take place inside the building. The applicant anticipates
between 70 to 100 collection vehicles per day accessing the site and between 28 to 30
transfer trailers leaving the site for disposal facilities. Absolutely no waste will be stored
or
disposed of on-site.
The
facility is located in the Village of Hillburn, on the west side of Route 17, in the
Town of Ramapo, Rockland County, NY.
