ENB Region 7 Completed Applications 12/21/2005

The applicant proposes to construct a single family home on Lot #26A on Krystyna Lane (aka Firelane #6) of Summer Haven Subdivision.  115 feet of riprap along the shoreline of the Seneca River and a considerable portion of the lot will be filled to elevation 385' NGVD.

  Hadco Corporation has proposed the modification of their current SPDES permit to allow the discharge of approximately 35,000 GPD of treated groundwater remediation effluent and an additional, also approximately 35,000 GPD of Reverse Osmosis Reject water to the Susquehanna River via an existing outfall.  These waste streams are currently discharged to the Town of Owego Waste Water Treatment Plant(WWTP).  In an effort to reduce the total flow to the WWTP, Hadco has proposed that these waste streams be directly discharged to the Susquehanna River.

  The department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation law.  This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under the statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time.  As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.  As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.

The NYSTA/Canal Corporation proposes to rehabilitate a portion of the existing towpath of the Erie Canal into a Canalway Trail from the Village of Port Byron to the Village of Jordan.  The trail will be multi-use pedestrian/bicycle trail approximately 10' wide and construction will include, re-grading, stone dust paving and the replacement of an existing bridge over the Cold Spring Brook Aqueduct.   This project will involve minor impact to the adjacent area of Freshwater Wetlands W-24 & W-25.  The application is available for review in the Syracuse Office.
