The applicant proposes to
rehabilitate Piers 88 and 90 to enhance the ability to
accommodate cruise ships servicing the New York Area and their passengers. The work
includes construction of an additional 46 foot wide apron on the north and south sides of
Pier 88 and on the north side of Pier 90, construction of self-propelled gangways to
extend between the aprons and the ships, renovation of Pier 88 and 90 terminal buildings
and access improvements to improve ground level pedestrian flow of passengers and
users of the Hudson River Bikeway and pedestrian path along Route 9A. The applicant
proposes to offset impacts resulting from the expanded aprons by removing pier decking
from the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal. The project site is located at 711 12th Avenue
between West 48th and West 51st Streets, Manhattan.

The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve an application for an
existing community hospital that operates combustion sources which provide heating, hot
water, cooling and emergency power for the hospital; and an ethylene oxide steilizer. The
applicant proposes to cap the facility NOx emissions at 22.5 tons per year. The facility is
subject to the provisions of State Facility specified under 6 NYCRR Part 201-7.2. The
application, draft permit, relevant supporting materials and regulations are available for
review during normal business hours at the DEC office provided in this notice.
Comments of support or objection may be made by filing a written statement by the
deadline date indicated. DEC may schedule a public hearing based upon an evaluation of
the nature and scope of any written objections raised. Hearing notices will contain
instructions on filing for party status and submitting comments.
