Westchester County - The Town of Mamaroneck Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed USGA/Winged Foot 2006 US Open Golf Tournament will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves site plan approval for site preparations and the operation of the 2006 US Open Golf Tournament to be held June 12, 2006 through June 19th, 2006 at the Winged Foot Golf Club. Peak attendance during the event is estimated at 45,000 people per day. Positive Declaration And Public Scoping
Westchester County - The Village of Ossining Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hidden Cove on the Hudson may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on December 5, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ossining Operations Center (Armory), 101 Route 9A, Ossining, NY. The action involves the adaptive resuse of the vacant Brandreth Pill Factory for 28 residential units, the construction of an annex providing an additional 40 residential units and the construction of a third residential building on the adjacent plateau, to provide 62 residential units, resulting in a total of 130 dwelling units. The project is located at 36 North Water Street, Ossining, NY.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft Generic EIS And Public Hearing
Orange County - The Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Newburgh Enlarged City School District High School. A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on December 1, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Board of Education Auditorium, 124 Grand Street, Newburgh NY. Public comment period ends December 12, 2005. The action involves the construction of new schools and additions and renovations to existing schools. Proposed improvements include:
- Newburgh Free Academy: The proposed project includes the conversion from a 10-12 to a 9-12 grade configuration, the construction of two classroom wings, a 3,000 seat gymnasium, athletic support spaces, cafeteria, library, smaller gymnasium, auto mechanic shop addition, and an 8 lane swimming pool. Additionally, a 5,000 seat lighted football stadium, lighted soccer field and softball field are proposed.
