The applicant proposes to reduce flooding potential for a single family residence  by removing a portion of a large gravel deposit in the Schoharie Creek  that has aggraded across the channel. The applicant proposes to remove gravel from an area 500 feet long by 30 feet wide along the existing stream channel. All excavation shall be conducted at least 6 inches above the water level at the time of work.

Applicant proposes to construct a 13 lot residential subdivision, known as Drawbridge Estates, on 74.08 acres of undeveloped agricultural lands.  The project will cause unavoidable impacts to 0.24 acres of Federal jurisdictional wetlands.  New York State Freshwater Wetland D-14 exists within the limits of the subdivision, however, no direct impacts to this wetland will occur.  To mitigate for wetland impacts, the applicant proposes to place the remaining 9.94 acres of on-site wetlands and 29.06 acres of uplands within a conservation easement to be managed by the Drawbridge Estates Home Owners Association.  Remaining wetlands within individual lots,  which are not located within the conservation easement, will be protected by deed restrictions. The project is located along the western side of Knight Road, approximately 5,000 feet north of the intersection of Knight road and and NYS Route 20.
