The application is for a
wetland restoration and enhancement project to improve wildlife
habitat within 6.2 acre USDA/NRCS Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) easement site.
The project involves restoring aquatic and emergent wetland habitat by constructing a 2.2
acre complex of potholes and connecting level ditches, adjacent to and within State
regulated freshwater wetland #EC-2, for waterfowl habitat. Spoil from the potholes will
be moved upland, spread and seeded and/or placed adjacent to the potholes. The project
site is located approximately 2,000 feet south of the intersection of St. Rte. 60 and
Carlson Road on the west side of St. Rte. 60.

Applicant proposes to stabilize
a replacement channel 450 feet in length of Tributary 45
of Eighteen Mile Creek and use the old channel for overflow. The channel will be
extended through an old pond. Three rock vein grade control structures will be installed
using heavy stones. Sheet piling will be installed where the old channel meets the new
channel and be stablized with rocks along its base. The streambanks will be graded to a 3
to 1 slope, seeded with a wildlife conservation mix and mulched to create a wildlife
corridor along the stream. The property is on Trevett Road near Brown Hill Road.

The applicant proposes to
construct three automotive dealership facilities, totaling
approximately 27 acres, within an approximately 89 acre parcel located adjacent to Alvin
Road in the Town of Grand Island. The proposal includes dealership buildings, parking
facilities, roads, utilities, septic systems and stormwater detention ponds and will impact
approximately 1.82 acres of federally regulated wetlands. As compensation for federal
wetland impacts, the applicant proposes to construct two wetland areas consisting of
mixed wet meadow/emergent and robust emergent marsh and scrub-shrub habitat, with a
combined total of approximately 4.05 acres. In addition, a proposed drainage swale and
stormwater detention basin will impact approximately .37 acre of the 100 foot wide
regulated adjacent area (AA) of NYS regulated Freshwater Wetland TW-14, a Class II
Wetland, and the construction of the wetland mitigation area will impact approximately
3.04 acres of AA.
