Project Description: The 25% expansion of an existing commercial sand and gravel extraction. As of May 22, 1973 the disturbed area of the existing extraction is undetermined, but based on 1977 aerial photos the disturbed area was approximately 1± acres. To date an additional 3± acres have been cleared. The current proposal is to mine the property in two phases. Phase 1 will consist of lowering the existing mine floor elevation from 1318 feet to 1310 feet , and disturbing an additional 1 acre of land contiguous to south easterly portion of the existing mine face. Phase 1 will yield approximately 30,000 cubic yards of gravel. Phase 2 includes an additional disturbance of 2.5 acres after the completion of Phase 1 for a total Life of Mine of 7.5 acres. A maximum of 25,000 cubic yards per year would be removed from the site. A maximum of 10 loaded dump truck trips is projected on a daily basis. The extraction will operate April 1 through November 30, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Materials to be process include topsoil, sand and gravel.

Project Title: Black Point Sewer District project - Towns of Ticonderoga and Putnam
Location: Black Point Road in the Towns of Putnam and Ticonderoga
Comment Period Ends: November 10, 2005
Project Description: The Black Point Sewer District project will serve the Towns of Ticonderoga and Putnam. The proposed project in Ticonderoga would involve the construction of a low-pressure sewer system consisting of 128 individual home grinder pump units and service laterals, 3.7 miles of force main sewers lying in existing roadways, and 2 main pump stations. Sewage from the proposed district will be entirely from domestic sources, and will flow through Ticonderoga’s existing sewage collection system to the Ticonderoga wastewater treatment plant. The proposed project in Putnam would involve the construction of a low-pressure sewer system consisting of 94 individual home grinder pump units and service laterals, 2.2 miles of force main sewers lying in existing roadways and one main pump station. Sewage from the proposed Putnam Black Point Sewer District No. 1 is dependent on formation and construction of the proposed adjoining Ticonderoga Black Point Sewer District. Sewage from the project will flow through the new force main to be constructed in Ticonderoga, and through Ticonderoga’s existing sewage collection system to the Ticonderoga wastewater treatment plant.
