The Department has made
a tentative determination to approve the discharge of 1,200
gallons per day (gpd) of treated sanitary wastewater to groundwater from a new septic
tank/absorption field system serving athletic fields on the west side of Girdle Road. The
draft permit (NY0126268) also includes changes related to the effluent limitations and
monitoring requirements for the existing activated sludge/lagoon treatment system which
is authorized to discharge up to 30,000 gpd to Buffalo Creek. Changes include an
increase in monitoring frequencies, a requirement to sample the influent to the treatment
system and a requirement to submit a monthly "Wastewater Facility Operation Report".
The Department is seeking comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making
a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify
Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought. In
commenting, please refer to this application by application number and SPDES number
listed in this notice. A draft permit and application materials are available for inspection
at the Region 9 Office.

determination to approve the discharge of 2250 gallons per day (gpd) of treated sanitary
wastewater from an existing sand fill/septic system to Spring Brook, a tributary of
Cazenovia Creek, Standard C (T). The facility also has two other existing outfalls with a
combined discharge of 1025 gpd of treated sanitary wastewater from sand fill and earth
fill septic systems to groundwater. The Department is seeking comments on the proposed
regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this
tentative determination does not signify Department approval for, or endorsement of the
