Project Description:
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve the discharge of 1,200 gallons per day (gpd) of treated sanitary wastewater to groundwater from a new septic tank/absorption field system serving athletic fields on the west side of Girdle Road. The draft permit (NY0126268) also includes changes related to the effluent limitations and monitoring requirements for the existing activated sludge/lagoon treatment system which is authorized to discharge up to 30,000 gpd to Buffalo Creek. Changes include an increase in monitoring frequencies, a requirement to sample the influent to the treatment system and a requirement to submit a monthly "Wastewater Facility Operation Report". The Department is seeking comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought. In commenting, please refer to this application by application number and SPDES number listed in this notice. A draft permit and application materials are available for inspection at the Region 9 Office.

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.
SEQR Lead Agency:
None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The project includes construction of a standard plaza infrastructure, access drives, parking and landscaping.
