The applicant proposes to
fill portions of State-designated Freshwater Wetlands O-9 and
O-16 (Class I) for the construction of a new access ramp from NYS Route 9A/100 to the
Taconic State Parkway, and the associated relocation of an adjacent bicycle path. The
project site is located on the Taconic State Parkway, approximately 0.5 mile north of the
NYS Route 117 overpass. Approximately 0.80 acres of State-regulated wetlands and
0.08 acre of federally-regulated wetlands would be permanently impacted by the project.
In addition, the project would result in about 1.52 acres of disturbance to the State 100-foot wetland
adjacent area and a temporary wetland disturbance of about 0.09 acre of
wetland. To mitigate wetland losses, approximately 1.16 acres of new wetland will be
created adjacent to the project site, with addition wetland enhancements to about 2.11
acres of existing, but degraded wetlands.
