Herkimer County - The New York State Department Of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Tree Cutting for Bathroom Replacement at Nick's Lake Campground will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves three existing bathroom facilities, one each in loops A, B, and C, will be replaced. The new facilities will be ADA compliant. The footprint of the sites will be increased slightly, primarily due to enlarged leach fields. The total project area is 3/4 of an acre, or about 1/4 of an acre for each site. 112 trees will be removed, most to make room for leachfield placement. The project is located in the Town of Webb, just south of Old Forge.
