Steuben County - The City of Hornell IDA, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed House Road Reconstruction and South Yards Development will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves reconstruction, resurfacing, and extension of portions of Ice House Road, extension of water and sanitary sewer lines, construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, construction of two graded pads for future development, and clearing/grubbing of approximately six acres for future development. The project is located on Ice House Road and South Yards Industrial Park, City of Hornell.

Yates County - The Town of Milo, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Improvement of Facilities for Himrod Water District & Ext. No. 1 to Himrod water District will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Project will provide potable water and fire protection for the Hamlet of Himrod and the Plum Point area on Seneca Lake. The project will take water from Seneca Lake, construct a filtration and chlorination facility, intermediate pumping station and a water storage tank. The distribution system will involve an estimated 27,500 lf of 8” and 8,600 lf of 12” water main. The project is located at Himrod (Hamlet) and Plum Point area, Town of Milo, Yates County NY.

Seneca County - The Town Board of the Town of Seneca Falls, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Empire Biofuels, LLC Ethanol Plant may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The Written Comment period on the draft scope has been extended; written comments will be accepted until October 28, 2005. The action involves the rezoning of a 165-acre parcel from A-1 Agricultural District to M-1 Industrial District and special use permit approval by the Zoning Board of Appeals for a production facility that will convert yellow dent corn by fermentation annually to 50-million gallons of fuel ethanol, 168,000 tons of distiller’s grain and 121,000 tons of carbon dioxide. The project is located at 1911 Auburn Road (Route 5/20) northeast of the Village of Seneca Falls in the Town of Seneca Falls, County of Seneca adjacent to the Cayuga and Seneca Canal.
