Genesee County - The Town Board of the Town of Darien, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed 2005 Town of Darien Comprehensive Plan. A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on October 19, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Darien Town Hall, 10569 Alleghany Road, Town of Darien, New York. Comments in writing will be accepted until October 19, 2005. A copy of the Comprehensive Plan and DGEIS may be examined during normal town business hours at the Darien Town Hall, located at 10569 Alleghany Road, Darien Center, New York. Additionally the Comprehensive Plan and DGEIS may be viewed at the Town Web Site, at www.darienny.com. The action involves a new Comprehensive Plan pursuant to section 272-a of the NYS Town Law, in anticipation of its future implementation. The project area includes the entire Town of Darien, New York.

Monroe County - The City of Rochester, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Municipal Code Amendments - Lead Poisoning Prevention. A public hearing on the Draft Generic EIS will be held on September 27, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, Council Chambers, 30 Church Street, Rochester, NY. Written comments on the DGEIS are requested and will be accepted by the contact person until 5:00 p.m. on October 11, 2005, and will also be received at a public hearing. The action involves the City of Rochester proposing to amend its municipal code to provide for the identification, reduction and control of hazards due to the presence of deteriorated lead-based paint in/on pre-1978 structures, in order to protect residents from exposure and reduce the incidence of lead poisoning.

Monroe County - The Town of Sweden Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed retail development. The action involves the construction of a 203,000 square foot Wal-Mart Supercenter on Brockport-Spencerport Road (NYS Route 31) in the Town of Sweden, Monroe County, New York. The proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter will consist of a single story building with paved parking, access driveways, utilities and storm water facilities to support the proposed site. The building will contain interior sections for retail sales, grocery, pharmacy, fire lube express, garden center, photo center, beauty salon, bank, snack bar and vision center. The project site is zoned B-1 commercial.
