ENB Region 8 Completed Applications 09/21/2005

The applicant proposes to skim a 100 foot x 50 foot gravel bar and remove woody debris within Wynkoop Creek.  The purpose is to prevent further erosion and flooding of the property and home of the applicant. The project includes the moving of the existing bar, approximately 555 cubic yards of gravel, and using the excavated material to fill eroded voids in the stream bank. The low flow channel will be maintained and disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched. The project is located on Wynkoop Creek approximately 400 feet northeast of the  intersection of Wynkoop and Hogback Roads.

The applicant proposes to construct a 135 foot long, concrete breakwall along the mean high water level of Conesus Lake on his property located at 4935 West Lake Rd. in the Town of Geneseo, Livingston County.

The applicant proposes to construct a 4.7-mile multi-use trail beginning at the Irondequoit Bay Marine Park  in the Town of Irondequoit and extending westward to the Genesee River.  The project will generally follow Culver Road through Durand Eastman Park to and along Lake Shore Boulevard, St. Paul Boulevard, onto Pattonwood Drive connecting to the sidewalk system at the the O'Rourke Bridge.  The proposed project includes earthwork (excavation and embankment), landscaping, signage, drainage, as well as erosion and sedimentation controls. The project also includes a boardwalk through New York State Regulated Freshwater Wetland RH-12 (Class I), Tamarack Swamp, and its associated 100-foot adjacent area.  

The applicant proposes to install a 5' wide, 50' long boardwalk across freshwater wetland GN-29, leading to a 5' x 25' long dock to be built on the Barge Canal, on his property located at the end of Bates Ave. in the Town of Waterloo.

    The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue/re-new  the following pre-existing EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit.  DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue/re-new this pre-existing permit for a five year term with updated regulatory requirements and maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements.  This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 5,400 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the Meads Creek.

    Additional information on this permit may be requested from or inspected at the NYSDEC Central Office in Albany.  Substantive comments must be submitted in writing to the contact person.  To be called substantive, 6 NYCRR Part 621.7 requires public comments "explain the basis of opposition and explain specific grounds..." for opposition.

Associated with the City of Hornell Industrial Development Agency's (IDA) efforts to redevelop the former Conrail South Yards Industrial Park Site, the IDA proposes to impact approximately 1.79 acres of NYS Freshwater Wetland HR-8 adjacent area. The impacts are the result of Ice House Road pavement resurfacing, shoulder widening, ditching and regrading.
