Notice Regarding Issuance of Final Request for Proposals (RFP)
Pursuant to General Municipal Law §120–w
For Disposal of the Solid Waste Stream Generated by the Town of Hempstead, N.Y. A copy of the final RFP, along with the Responsiveness Summary to comments received on the draft RFP, is available from the Town of Hempstead Dept. of Sanitation, Richard T. Ronan, P.E., Commissioner, 1600 Merrick Road, Merrick, NY 11566, (516) 378–4210. The final RFP and Responsiveness Summary may also be viewed in the office of the Town of Hempstead Town Clerk, One Washington Street, Hempstead, NY 11550, (516) 489–5000, and at all municipal public libraries. All proposals must be received by Wednesday, November 16, 2005.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27–1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for investigation of the site indicated above.
NYSDEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.
NYSDEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Nassau County – The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of North Hills, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Applications for Incentive Zoning Use Permit, Site Plan Approval and Subdivision Approval, The Residences at North Hills, Midtown North Hills LLC. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 30, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Hall of the Incorporated Village of North Hills, One Shelter Rock Road, Roslyn, New York. Public comments on the DEIS will be accepted at the public hearing, and written comments on the DEIS will also be accepted by the contact person listed above until September 12, 2005. The DEIS is available for public review at the office of the contact person and at the Shelter Rock Public Library, 165 Searingtown Road, Albertson, New York 11507. The action involves an incentive zoning use permit application and applications for site plan and subdivision approval for the development of 234 luxury condominium units on a 17.1–acre site. The proposed project would provide 500 parking spaces in three below–grade parking garages, beneath the residential buildings. All wastewater generated by the project would be conveyed off–site via the public sewer system for treatment and disposal at the Cedar Creek Sewage Treatment Plant. Access will be provided by two vehicle entrances at the Long Island Expressway South Service Road and at New Hyde Park Road. The project is located at 85 South Service Road of Long Island Expressway, 600 feet east of New Hyde Park Road, Incorporated Village of North Hills, Nassau County.
