Project is Located:	Several Counties throughout the State
The applicant requests a modification of an existing permit to revise final elevations (deepen) a 25-acre portion of an existing 109-acre sand and gravel mine. There will be no lateral expansion of the life-of-mine affected area nor deepening into the water table. The location of this mine, known as the "Roe-Jan" site, is on the west side of Dutchess County Route 55 at the Dutchess/Columbia County line with portions in both the towns of Milan and Clermont.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency:
NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Sep 23 2005.
