The applicant has a current Mine Land Reclamation permit for a 12.29 acre Life of Mine bluestone quarry located on Gallop Hill Rd in the Town of Masonville. The applicant proposes to modify and renew the existing permit. The modification is to include: a) the expansion of the Life of Mine from 12.29 to 29.0 acres, b) increase in the acreage to be affected during the coming 5 year permit term from 12.29 acres to 14.4 acres, c) on-site storage of 500-1000 gallons of diesel fuel, d) hours of operation are proposed to change from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM-6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday e) all storm and process water will be controlled on-site through use of a newly enhanced sediment pond system.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency:
NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
