Project Description: The Department of Environmental Conservation has completed a Draft Unit Management Plan for the Lewey Lake Public Campground. A public meeting has been scheduled for August 25th at the town hall in Indian Lake. This is a five year plan for the operation and modernization of the campground. The proposed actions are the modernization of the Indian Lake boat launching area, construction of an accessible ADA fishing pier on the Lewey Lake channel, and modification of a bathhouse to a shower facility.
Copies of the draft plan are available from the Bureau of Recreation at the above address. Comments will be accepted until September 30, 2005.

Project Title: Mountain Lake Academy

Project Description: The project is a greater than 25 percent expansion of an existing public or semi public building. It includes: 1) renovation of the existing school building for use as a residence hall; 2) a 12,124 sq. ft. addition to the existing school building for classrooms, offices and a library; 3) a 2, 454 sq. ft. addition to the existing school building for a kitchen/dining hall; 4) a proposed 3,524 sq. ft. five unit multiple family dwelling for staff housing; and 5) a 4,200 sq. ft. "ropes course lodge". The project also includes the installation of three new wastewater treatment systems, one for the expanded school building, one for the unit multiple family dwelling and one for the ropes course lodge. Other components of the project include: a driveway to the ropes course lodge, road surfacing and parking areas. The project site is that portion of the applicant's landholding west of Roaring Brook. It is a 26.33± acre parcel of land located in a Low Intensity Use land use area on the Park Plan Map. The applicant also owns 76.9± acres on the east side of Roaring Brook in a Rural Use land use area.
Franklin County - The Town of Harrietstown, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town Hall Handicapped Access Elevator Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of an elevator addition to the exterior of the Town Hall of the Town of Harrietstown, a building listed on the Federal and State Registers of Historic Places, and the related application for a permit for use and occupancy, and eventual purchase, of 0.007 acre of land abutting the building from the New York State Department of Transportation, which land is within the NYS Route 3 right-of-way and is required to build the elevator addition. The project is located at 39 Main Street, Saranac Lake, NY.

Saratoga County - The Saratoga Springs ZBA, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Area and Use Variance for Turkheimer Property will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves area and use variance to construct a replacement porch/stairs and make extensive alterations to and change the use of the existing carriage building. The project is located at 158 Woodlawn Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY.
