The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted BCP applications for investigation of the sites indicated above.

NYSDEC will accept public comments concerning these applications. A copy of both of the applications and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.

NYSDEC will review the application packages and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the applications.

Negative Declaration

Erie County - The Erie County DEP, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rush Creek Interceptor and Elimination of Pumping Stations and Blasdell Wastewater Treatment Plant (C617-05-55) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of the Rush Creek Interceptor and elimination of the Village of Blasdell Wastewater Treatment Plant and related pumping stations. Work would include installation of 11,000 ft. of gravity sewer, one wet weather pumping station, 5,800 LF or 7,200 LF of 24 in. force main (adjacent to gravity sewer) and ancillary structures and improvements. The project is located in the Town of Hamburg, Village of Blasdell, NY.

Erie County - The New York State Office Of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Equestrian Event Field - Knox Farm State Park will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves regrading of an approximate 8 acre meadow area in Knox Farm State Park from 3-5 percent slope to a consistent 2 percent slope. At the bottom of this slope a ½ acre, 10 foot deep pond will be constructed. The field will be used during the summer for horse carriage and other equestrian riding events. The project is located on the corner of Knox Road and Gypsy Lane within Knox Farm State Park in the Town of Aurora.
