The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for remediation of the site indicated above.

NYSDEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.

Please note the application package includes the Draft Remedial Work Plan which describes how the contamination related to the site will be addressed.

NYSDEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Negative Declaration

Ontario County - The Town of Richmond, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Richmond - Extension No. 1 to the Shetler Road Water District will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the Town of Richmond developing plans for the construction of water system improvements, including the provision of a public water supply to Extension No. 1 to the Shetler Road Water District. The proposed improvements are possible as a result of the connection that the Town is preparing to construct to the City of Rochester water supply. Extension No. 1 to the Shetler Road Water District includes three new service areas, as described below:

Yates County - The Town of Jerusalem, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Modification of Mine Land Reclamation Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the extension of the existing gravel mine 24.70 acres of land adjacent to the Town of Jerusalem Highway Department. The project is located at 2672 Guyanoga Road, Jerusalem, NY.

Yates County - The Town of Jerusalem, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed acquisition of land of Joanne Champlin and Ruth C. Lamphier will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 23.315 acres of land adjacent to the Town of Jerusalem property. The majority of this property will be used over the next thirty plus or minus years to mine gravel for use by the Town of Jerusalem Highway Department. Notice Of Acceptance Of Draft EIS

Steuben County - The Addison Central School District, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Addison Central Schools Capital Improvements Project. Comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until July 20, 2005. The action involves additions and alterations to the Addison High and Middle School Campus, Tuscarora Elementary School and Valley Elementary School. The additions and alterations will include a 24,860 sf, a 22, 030 sf and a 8.100 sf addition at the high and middle school campus and a 6,400 sf and a 5,400 sf addition at Tuscarora Elementary School. The additions at Valley Elementary will include a 3,075 sf library/media center, a 3,885 sf cafeteria and a 975 sf entry/office. Development will also include approximately 83,200 sf of new and reconfigured parking lots and 350,000 sf of new and reconfigured athletic playing fields. A new access drive to the high school and one new parking lot will require the purchase and demolition of 4 existing houses. A pedestrian bridge is proposed over Tuscarora Creek.
