The City of New Rochelle Department of Development will hold a public scoping meeting on Thursday, June 23rd from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at the New Rochelle Public Library for purposes of obtaining public input on the draft Scoping Outline for proposed development on the LeCount Place/Anderson Plaza block.
New Rochelle Revitalization, LLC, the project applicant, currently proposes to construct an approximately 895,000 square-foot mixed use project in three separate buildings: a main residential building located on the north side of Anderson Plaza, a smaller "loft" building fronting on the south side of Anderson Plaza and a commercial building toward Huguenot Street. The Project Applicant would relocate Anderson Plaza to align it with the New Street entrance to New Roc City.
The project, as currently proposed, includes approximately 250,000 square feet to accommodate a mix of retail tenants including restaurant, smaller boutique, and medium-sized retailers in the first and second floors of the main building and the ground floor of the loft building. Approximately 36 residential units would be constructed in the loft building and approximately 210 residential units would be constructed in a residential tower at the southwest corner of the project site.
The project applicant currently proposes to utilize a portion of the property occupied by the United States Postal Service as well as development rights from the USPS property.All interested parties are invited to attend the public scoping meeting. Putnam County - The Village of Cold Spring, Board of Trustees as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Amendment to Chapter 134 of the Zoning Code of the Village of Cold Spring will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal to amend Chapter 134 of the Zoning Code of the Village of Cold Spring so as to require that unless otherwise stated, the dimensional requirements applicable within a zoning district shall apply to all uses within said district, regardless of whether such uses may also be permitted in another district or districts.

Orange County The Town Board of the Town of Tuxedo, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. A public hearing on the Draft Supplemental EIS will be held on July 18, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tuxedo Town Hall, Community Room, One Temple Drive, Tuxedo, NY. Written comments will be accepted by the contact person until July 28, 2005 or ten days following the close of the public hearing, whichever is later. The action involves the rezoning of approximately 413.0 acres of land and the subsequent development of Sterling Forge Estates, a development to consist of 107 single family residences. The project site straddles Long Meadow Road in the Town of Tuxedo.

Orange County - The Planning Board of the Village of Monroe, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Smith Farm. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mombasha Fire House, 526 Route 17M, Monroe, NY. Written comment on the DEIS will be accepted by the lead agency until Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. The action involves a proposed project which consists of 181 residential units clustered on a 79.2 acre property. The project is located on Gilbert Street, in the Village and Town of Monroe.

Orange County The Village of Walden Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Draft 2005 Comprehensive Plan for the Village of Walden. A joint Public Hearing will be held on July 12, 2005 to receive public comments on the Draft Comprehensive Plan and DGEIS. Public comments will be accepted until July 22, 2005, 10 days following the close of the public hearing. Orange County - The Town of Wallkill Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Phillipsburg Facility. The action involves construction of a proposed concrete production plant, block casting and storage, hot mix asphalt production plant, aggregate recycling, processing and reprocessing facility, truck wash and shop with offices. The site is located on a 53.3 acre parcel of land at 81 Cemetery Road, also known as Phillipsburg Road, south of East Main Street and west of NYS Route 17, in the Town of Wallkill, Orange County, New York and known as tax map parcel Section 78, Block 1, Lots 29, 28.21 and 28.22.
