ENB Region 8 Completed Applications 06/08/2005

The applicant proposes a treatment of the aquatic herbicide Aqualthol K in a privately owned, 8 acre pond in the Town of Batavia.  The project site is south of the State Rt. 5 / Wortendyke Rd. intersection, west of Rushville.  The application is intended to control floating-leaf pondweed, an invasive, nuisance aquatic weed species.  Treatment will be a sprayed, surface application at a rate of 5.1 gallons/acre over the four acre treatment area.    

THE TOWN OF CLARENDON PROPOSES TO EXTEND THE WATER SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE DISTRICT INTO ITS EXTENSION #7 AND TO TAKE FOR USE THEREIN A SUPPLY OF WATER ESTIMATED TO AVERAGE 20,000 GALLONS PER DAY FROM THE MONROE COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY'S (BROCKPORT) LAKE ONTARIO SOURCE.  PROJECT INCLUDES THE INSTALLATION OF 26,900 LINEAR FEET OF 8" WATER MAIN AND APPURTENANCES TO SERVE 24,000 GALLONS PER DAY TO 96 HOMES ALONG PORTIONS OF NYS RTE 237, AND GLIDDEN, S. HOLLEY, AND LADUE ROADS.  THE PROJECT WILL REQUIRE CROSSING FRESHWATER WETLAND HO-12.  THE FILE IS AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT AT NYSDEC REGION 8.

The applicant proposes to construct a new 58' breakwall one Cayuta Lake with one 53' and one 42' return wall and backfill on his property located at 2573 CR6 in the Town of Catharine, Schuyler County.  The project is located in the adjacent area of the state regulated, Class I freshwater wetland, AL-3.

The East Bay Association proposes the use of an aquatic pesticide, Reward (EPA Reg. No. 100-1091, active ingredient - Diquat dibromide), for the seasonal control of 10 acres of aquatic vegetation in East Bay. The treatment areas are restricted to developed shoreline areas and the treatments will target water depths between 3 and 6 feet. The target plant species are Eurasian water milfoil and Curly-leaf Pondweed.  This proposal is consistent with the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement On Aquatic Vegetation Control Program of the Department of Environmental Conservation and its Findings. East Bay is an approximately 100 acre embayment off Lake Ontario, located in Wayne County.
