treatment of the aquatic herbicide Aqualthol K in a privately
owned, 8 acre pond in the Town of Batavia. The project site is south of the State Rt. 5 /
Wortendyke Rd. intersection, west of Rushville. The application is intended to control
floating-leaf pondweed, an invasive, nuisance aquatic weed species. Treatment will be a
sprayed, surface application at a rate of 5.1 gallons/acre over the four acre treatment area.

The East Bay Association
proposes the use of an aquatic pesticide, Reward (EPA Reg.
No. 100-1091, active ingredient - Diquat dibromide), for the seasonal control of 10 acres
of aquatic vegetation in East Bay. The treatment areas are restricted to developed
shoreline areas and the treatments will target water depths between 3 and 6 feet. The
target plant species are Eurasian water milfoil and Curly-leaf Pondweed. This proposal is
consistent with the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement On Aquatic
Vegetation Control Program of the Department of Environmental Conservation and its
Findings. East Bay is an approximately 100 acre embayment off Lake Ontario, located in
Wayne County. The application materials area available for public review and comment
at the NYS DEC Regional Office in Avon.
