The applicant proposes the
mining of gravel with material processing by a portable dry-screen that has a maximum capacity of 140
tons per hour, on 4.95 acres of land owned by
Chad Smith. The purpose is to provide material for I-86 repaving and bridge
rehabilitation. The estimated life of the mine is 5 years and the reclamation objective is
agriculture. The Smith Gravel Pit site is northwest of Spring Valley Road intersection
with South Road and its haul road would provide access to South Road.

The NYS DEC Bureau of Waste
Reduction and Recycling, Division of Solid and
Hazardous Materials proposes to remediate a waste tire storage site referred to as the
Clarence Auto Tire Stockpile, located at 11167 Main Street. Approximately 650,000
waste tires will be shredded onsite before removal. The tires intrude into the regulated100
foot wide adjacent area of NYS Freshwater Wetland CL-11. The project operation will
take place for approximately one year. Upon completion of reclamation, disturbed ground
areas will be regraded, seeded and mulched. The application is available for review and
comment at the regional office.

change in operating hours during November through April (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday). No other changes are proposed. The mine is located on the
west side of Hiram Road about 210 feet north of its intersection with Bray Road.
