Project Location: approximately one mile east of Deposit, NY

Project Description: The action involves a herbicide, reduction of ferns, non-commercial tree species and undesirable low valued tree species to allow the natural regeneration of desired tree species such as sugar maple, black cherry, and red oak. The action is to take place on 65 acres presently occupied by black cherry, red oak, sugar maple and soft maple.

Impact on public health is minimal. Personnel will be equipped with safety equipment.
Also, following label instructions for the application will minimize risk.


Positive Declaration

Albany County - The Town of Colonie Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Canterbury Crossing Planned Unit Development may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves rezoning of a 189 acre parcel from Residence A-2 and Business E to a mixed use Planned Unit Development District, for the proposed development of 88 single family homes, 60 condominium units, 94 carriage homes, a 100-unit senior citizen apartment building, 6,000 sq. ft. of retail space, and 30,000 sq. ft. of office space. A total of 96 acres of the site would remain as open space under the ownership of a homeowners’ association. The project is located at 1035 Loudon Road, Town of Colonie.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final Supplemental EIS

Columbia County - The Planning Board of the Town of Copake, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Neopolis Consulting Company resort hotel project at Catamount Ski Area. The action involves the construction of 125 suites with up to 313 bedrooms within 3 resort hotel buildings with related amenities, including a restaurant, retail shops, inground swimming pool, and associated parking areas on a 10 acre site located at the base of the Catamount Ski Area. The project is located on NYS Route 23 and Catamount - Swiss Hutte Road, Copake, NY.
