acre of Freshwater Wetland Q-11 (class I) and 3.4 acres of
wetland adjacent area, associated with construction of two residential developments
(Steeplechase at Malta and Saint Ledgers Woods) on a previously disturbed site. As
mitigation, the applicant proposes to enhance degraded wetlands and create the 142 acre
Malta Nature Preserve, which will be open to the public and deeded to the Town of
Malta. The project is located on the east side of U.S. Route 9, 0.4 mile north of Route 9P.
