ENB Region 3 Completed Applications 04/06/2005

    The Town of East Fishkill proposes to construct a wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment plant designed to treat 500,000 gallons per day to serve the new Hopewell Hamlet Sewer District.  Tertiary treated wastewater would be discharged to the Fishkill Creek.  The treatment plant will be located on a 3.62 acre parcel to the west of NYS Route 376, on the north side of Fishkill Creek.

    The Department has prepared a draft SPDES permit with proposed effluent limits and monitoring requirements designed to meet the water quality standards of Fishkill Creek. The draft permit and application materials are available for review at the Department`s Region 3 New Paltz office.

    In addition to existing facilities in the hamlet, the treatment plant is designed to serve the approved Unity Plaza project and the proposed Twin Creeks, Hopewell Glen, Lake Walton Park and Hopewell Crossing Town Project (Village Green) residential developments.  Construction of the wastewater collection system to serve these projects will require some work within state freshwater wetlands HJ-75 and HJ-77 and their 100 foot adjacent areas and within the 100 foot adjacent area of state wetland HJ-15.

The applicant proposes to grade and fill, a previously disturbed, 300 foot long by 5 foot wide walking path to access a proposed 12 by 6 foot dock in Freshwater Wetland WI-36 and its 100 foot Adjacent Area.  A newly constructed single family dwelling is located outside of the regulated areas on the west side of Anderson Road.
